Who We Are
Our Mission
Art History HQ is a service whose goal is to make art history approachable, tangible, and accessible to all. We make this possible by offering courses and sessions that are specifically tailored to your interests and needs. Our services range from test prep for college and high school students to essay editing and proofreading for students and writers to art appreciation classes for individuals of any age. Please see Our Services for more on what we have to offer.
Art History HQ was recently founded by two alumni from New York University's Institute of Fine Arts, one of the most prestigious art history programs in the US. Combined, they have over 10 years of tutoring experience catering students and adults of all ages.

Quinn R. Bolte
Quinn recently obtained her MA in Art History and Archaeology from the Institute of Fine Arts at New York University, where she is now a PhD candidate. She wrote her thesis on Roman and Byzantine small finds (i.e. small, pretty things), craft workshops (who made them), and trade (where they came from and went.)
While her focus has been on the ancient/late antique world, her greatest strength is in the diversity of her interests and her extensive and varied art historical experience. She has worked as an assistant researching Renaissance paintings, a field archaeologist in Turkey, an inventory manager (organizing and recording art historical objects), image archiving assistant in an art history library and more. Currently, she works as an editorial assistant for the academic journal, Journal18: A journal of 18th century art and culture.
In her free time she enjoys reading novels, writing for fun, drinking too much coffee, and making handmade tapestries (which she learned how to make using ancient techniques!)
Quinn’s greatest goal is to share the passion she feels for art and its place in the history of the world. We are defined by what we leave on this earth and so much can be understood today from those who came before us. Art is meant to be knowable and fun and she hopes her passion drives yours!

Hannah Kate Simon
Hannah is a recent graduate of the master’s program in Art History and Archaeology at New York University’s Institute of Fine Arts. Her thesis explored the art, topography, and material culture of the Roman Imperial Cult in Asia Minor (or, how emperor worship was made into art and architecture and how it impacted the daily visual lives of Rome's subjects).
Though recently Hannah's research has been concentrated on Roman Imperial art, her interests and experience are wide-reaching. Her first love was theatre and stage combat, the history and art of fighting on stage. She has worked as a research scholar in the American Wing department of decorative arts at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, as well as at Aphrodisias, NYU’s Roman archaeological site, and within digital archiving at NYU. She has served as an assistant researcher at the Grey Art Gallery, where her writing and research appears in the exhibition catalogue
METAMORPHOSES: Ovid According to Wally Reinhardt.
For fun and relaxation, Hannah enjoys the great outdoors, consuming copious amounts of maple syrup, and being chased by her fur babies Pip and Mila.
Hannah is excited to help students find their niche when it comes to art history, and help them explore the many facets of the discipline, from economics to chemistry to religious studies. Each student brings something new to the table, and there's always a way to connect their passions with art and history.
